GPU Farm vs Bitcoin Farm: Which Is More Profitable? | Tarkov Hideout
Compare GPU farming vs Bitcoin farming in Tarkov. Analysis of ROI, passive income, and which strategy is best for your wipe goals.
The Bitcoin Farm and GPU flipping are two of the most debated money-making methods in Escape from Tarkov. One is fully passive, the other delivers instant profit. Knowing when to use each strategy separates experienced traders from beginners who burn millions on the wrong choice.

Understanding Bitcoin Farm Profitability
The Bitcoin Farm converts GPU cards into in-game Bitcoin over time. Profit scales directly with how many GPUs you slot in. At 25 GPUs you earn roughly 0.15 BTC per day. The farm requires Solars or fuel canisters to run continuously, which adds an ongoing operational cost most new players underestimate.
The hidden cost that erodes margins is fuel. At approximately 85,000 rubles per 25 hours of runtime, fuel consumption on a low-GPU setup can make the whole operation barely profitable. You need at least 10-15 GPUs slotted before passive income meaningfully outpaces the fuel expense. Below that threshold you are almost certainly better off selling those GPUs outright and reinvesting the capital elsewhere.
Break-even math also matters. At mid-wipe GPU prices of around 250K rubles each, building a full 25-GPU farm costs roughly 6-7 million rubles in GPUs alone, plus the hideout upgrade costs. That investment takes 3-4 weeks of continuous operation to recoup, which means you need to be past the early-wipe scramble before the farm makes financial sense.
How GPU Price Timing Affects Your Decision
GPU prices in Tarkov are strongly wipe-dependent and fluctuate in a predictable pattern every cycle. Understanding this pattern is the key to maximizing profit regardless of which strategy you choose.
At wipe start, GPU demand spikes sharply as players rush to build their hideouts. Limited supply and high demand drive flea prices to 300-400K rubles or higher per unit. This is the worst possible time to buy GPUs for farming and simultaneously the best time to sell any you find in raid.
As the wipe matures and more players complete their hideouts, GPU supply on the flea market increases while demand gradually drops. Prices typically settle into the 200-280K range mid-wipe, making it economically viable to purchase GPUs for the farm rather than sell them. The lower buy price shortens your break-even window considerably.
Late wipe sees GPU prices continue declining as most active players have already completed their hideout builds. At this stage neither strategy is optimal — the farm cannot break even before the wipe ends, and GPU sell prices are at their lowest.
The Verdict
Early Wipe: Sell GPUs
GPU prices are highest early wipe. Sell them for immediate capital to fund quests, ammo, and hideout upgrades that will pay dividends faster than waiting weeks for farm break-even.
Mid Wipe: Build Bitcoin Farm
GPU prices drop mid-wipe. Buy cheap GPUs and build your farm for passive income. This is also when your hideout is likely complete enough to run the farm efficiently without fuel shortages.
Late Wipe: Skip It
Not enough time to break even. Sell GPUs for whatever the market will pay and use the rubles for end-of-wipe PvP or stockpiling for next wipe's early rush.
Tracking the Numbers Automatically
Manually monitoring GPU flea prices, Bitcoin exchange rates, and fuel costs is time-consuming and easy to get wrong. FleaBot tracks real-time GPU flea prices and calculates your current break-even point automatically, so you always have the data to make the right call without opening spreadsheets.
